About AI Savings Lab

Stop paying for things AI can do for you. AI Savings Lab helps freelancers, solopreneurs and very small businesses (and households) find out whether AI can replace something they pay for, and what it really saves.

Every guide answers five questions

  1. What am I paying for?
  2. Can AI replace or reduce it?
  3. Exactly how do I set it up?
  4. What are the net savings after AI cost, setup time and maintenance?
  5. What are the limits, security risks and human oversight needed?

Who runs it

AI Savings Lab is run by Jason Reed, PharmD.

The first case study is Jason's own: he replaced a $154/month bookkeeping service and now uses Grok Bot for his bookkeeping. Follow the case study.

How we choose what to cover

We prioritize expenses by how many people pay for them, how much they cost, how easy they are to replace safely, and whether there is already a good free answer. Popularity with advertisers is not a factor. See testing methodology and disclosures.

What we are not

We are a small, independent publication. We are not a certified testing laboratory, accountants, tax advisers, or financial advisers. When we say "tested", we mean we ran the setup ourselves as described in our methodology, with test data, on the dates shown.
